Meet our Founders

Nandita and Reema's journey to founding Aara began with a frustration that so many women can relate to: the feeling that the financial world simply wasn't built for them.

They watched the women around them work hard, earn, save, and still feel lost, anxious, or behind when it came to their finances. Not because they weren't capable, but because the tools, advice, and systems available to them were designed around a life that didn't reflect their own. Career breaks for caregiving, the gender pay gap, financial transitions after divorce or loss, these realities were either glossed over or ignored entirely.

Every resource they came across seemed to offer the same generic playbook, with no acknowledgment of the very real barriers women face. Women were left to figure it out alone, often feeling like the problem was them, when really, it was the system.

They founded Aara to change that. To build something that finally starts with women's realities, not as an afterthought, but as the foundation.

"Aara exists to change the way women engage with money, because traditional financial systems were never built with women's realities in mind."

ABOUT US

Aara is a finance platform focused on helping women understand and take control of their money. We believe every woman should have easy access to clear information and practical tools that fit their life. We know that traditional financial systems often overlook women’s realities, so we created a platform that meets women where they are and supports them throughout their financial journey. Whether you’re just starting to learn about money or building habits to reach your goals, aara is designed for you. Our platform uses behavioural insights to help you understand not only the numbers but also the feelings and habits behind your spending. We also offer a supportive community where women can connect, share their goals, and celebrate wins. In our opinion, the best part of our platform!

The Problem

Despite gains in education and workforce participation, women continue to navigate a financial system that wasn’t built with their realities in mind. From the persistent wage gap to the impact of unpaid caregiving, longer life expectancy, and a lack of accessible, inclusive financial education, the system presents persistent challenges. Many financial tools and platforms remain generalized, often ignoring many aspects of women’s lives, like nonlinear careers, systemic inequalities, and cultural expectations around money. As a result, women are more likely to experience financial stress, lower confidence when it comes to money management, and fewer opportunities to build long-term wealth. What’s missing is a more thoughtful, responsive approach to personal finance, one that doesn’t just aim to catch women up, but centers their needs from the start.

Our Mission

To empower women with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to navigate their financial journeys effectively, addressing the systemic disparities that have historically limited their economic potential.

The Solution

Aara is reimagining personal finance through a gender-aware lens, one that reflects the lived realities of women and supports them at every stage. From practical money management strategies and financial literacy to investing and guided self-reflection, Aara combines education, behavioural insights, and community to build not just knowledge, but lasting confidence. With a focus on financial wellness, Aara empowers women to take control of their financial lives by providing tools that promote healthier financial habits and long-term financial stability.
